The Water Safety Social Group is dedicated to improving safety in and around our waterways.

We maintain 25 safety stations along both the residential section as well as Marquette Park beach.

​

Our yard sign campaign has been well received by the community. Our messaging strives to educate people as to the risks posed by the Lake. Also strategies to mitigate those risks.

In 2022 we employed various billboards to spread our message

We have manned information stations to appeal directly to beachgoers.

We even arranged a visit for local residents to our Coast Guard station at Calumet Park.  This station along with the Michigan City station overlap in coverage of our beach.
